Job Overview:
The Jr. Desktop Engineer will provide first-line technical support to end-users, ensuring smooth operation of IT systems, hardware, and software. The role involves troubleshooting network and VoIP issues, coordinating with vendors, managing IT assets, and providing timely resolution to technical problems. This position requires working onsite and supporting users during night shifts.

Key Responsibilities:
Technical Support:
• Provide frontline technical assistance to resolve hardware, software, and network-related issues for end-users.
• Troubleshoot desktop and laptop computers, printers, and peripheral devices.
Operating System & Software Support:
• Install, configure, and maintain operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux).
• Support software installation, updates, and patches.
• Provide assistance with Microsoft Office applications, especially troubleshooting issues in Outlook.
Network & Connectivity:
• Set up and troubleshoot LAN/Wi-Fi networks.
• Diagnose and resolve internet connectivity issues, including those related to network printers.
• Coordinate with internet service providers (ISPs) for issue resolution.
VoIP System Support:
• Troubleshoot and resolve VoIP (Voice over IP) system issues, including phone setup, call quality, and network connectivity.
• Work with vendors to maintain uninterrupted VoIP services.
Vendor Management:
• Communicate with hardware and software vendors for procurement, repair, and replacement.
• Collaborate with third-party service providers for issue resolution related to hardware, internet, and network infrastructure.
Asset Management:
• Maintain accurate records of IT assets such as computers, monitors, phones, and other equipment.
• Oversee asset lifecycle management, including procurement, deployment, and disposal.
Hardware Troubleshooting:
• Diagnose and resolve hardware issues for desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals.
• Replace faulty components such as hard drives, RAM, and power supplies.
User Account Management:
• Manage user accounts, passwords, and access rights in systems like Active Directory.
• Assist with new employee setup, account creation, and system configuration.
Security & Backup:
• Ensure up-to-date antivirus protection and apply security patches.
• Perform routine data backups and assist in data recovery processes.
Documentation & Reporting:
• Maintain documentation for troubleshooting procedures and issue resolutions.
• Generate reports on asset inventories and incident tracking using tools like Excel.
Preventive Maintenance:
• Conduct regular maintenance, such as disk cleanups and hardware inspections, to avoid future issues.
• Monitor system health to identify potential problems before they become critical.
End-User Training:
• Provide basic training to end-users on software usage, security practices, and troubleshooting.
• Help users understand and manage their IT environment to enhance self-service troubleshooting.
Collaboration:
• Work closely with senior engineers and IT team members to resolve issues efficiently.
• Participate in team meetings to discuss ongoing challenges and upcoming IT projects.
